MEDIA RELEASE

LABOR COMMITS TO NEW CHANGEROOMS FOR MANIANA RESERVE

Local Labor MP Zaneta Mascarenhas today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will upgrade the changerooms at Queens Park’s Maniana Reserve.

This $1.75 million election commitment will fund new female-friendly changerooms, increased storage areas and a club meeting veranda.

The project will boost participation in cricket, soccer and footy at Maniana Reserve – particularly for girls and women.

Bentley Cricket Club, South Perth Junior Cricket Club and Willetton Junior Club are some of the sports teams who will benefit from the upgrades.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Labor Member for Swan, Zaneta Mascarenhas:

“Our community loves sports but the sorry state of the changerooms at Maniana Reserve limits locals’ ability to get involved.

“This $1.75 million election commitment will build brand new changerooms so more families can get involved with cricket, soccer and footy.

“Upgrading the facilities at Maniana will create a more user-friendly space, encourage greater community engagement, and enhance safety for everyone in Queens Park.

“Only the Albanese Labor Government can be trusted to deliver upgrades to Queens Park’s Maniana Reserve.”
